“Recognising the originality and drive of Ireland’s social enterprises large and small, the Government created Social Innovation Fund Ireland in 2013 to provide funds to scale social innovations that improve life outcomes and have a widespread impact on critical social problems facing Ireland.
As Minister for Environment, Community & Local Government, I am pleased to support the work of the Social Innovation Fund through the challenge fund offered by the Department. Every Euro in private giving to the Fund is matched by a Euro from my Department. I am satisfied that this offers donors and philanthropists a meaningful and impactful way to support social issues in Ireland, as the Fund sets out to find and back the best social innovations in Ireland.
Its vision to create the world’s best ecosystem for supporting social innovation is one I am delighted to endorse and support.”
Simon Coveney, TD
Minister for Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government
“We are delighted to be working in collaboration with the Government on finding and backing great solutions with the potential to create jobs and social impact in Ireland.” Deirdre Mortell, CEO, Social Innovation Fund Ireland.
